In Rio, the standard housing option is in apartments.
During our travels from Rio to Salvador: All students have same housing options of beachside pousadas and dorms.
Safe Neighborhoods:
In Rio, we only stay in Ipanema, Leblon or Arpoador neighborhoods. These are very safe and upscale parts of town, surrounded by beaches, nightlife, shopping, restaurants, public transportation and more... all within walking distance.
SGE will make every attempt to honor roommate requests if you have a friend you want to live with while abroad.

Private apartments in Ipanema, Leblon or Arpoador neighborhoods
There will be 3 to 4 students to an apartment.
All apartments will have a private bathroom.
Breakfast is normally NOT included, but will have a fully-equipped kitchen included to help you save money in your budgeting.
Most will have free or inexpensive WiFi you can purchase

Size, and quality of the apartments varies depending on availability. These are not intended to be luxurious, but should be comfortable and safe places to stay while studying in Brazil.
