Detailed Itinerary

This Summit Global Education program is designed to be stimulating, educational and fun.
We want you to return home from your time abroad  longing for more.  While you are in Brazil, we will have a full month of activities planned for you.  But, will you have free time? (to go to the beach, or to explore on your own)?  YES!...  Learn more...
The list below is given to indicate the types of activities* we may take the students on during our upcoming programs. The actual itinerary will be updated daily in the student guidebook wiki (HERE).

Tuesday July 2nd:  Arrive in Rio de Janeiro by 11am
  • A Summit representative will be at the airport to greet you from 6:00 am to 12:00 (noon).  Students will be given a brief orientation, and will be helped to catch a taxi to their hotel, where you can check in and enjoy some free time getting your bearings in Rio.
  • Before attending the opening ceremony at 1pm, students may go to Ipanema beach for a swim (within five minutes walking distance from the accommodations).
  • We will have an opening ceremony from 1pm - 3pm at Balada Mix, a restaurant nearby the hotels where students will stay.  Students will begin congregating at the restaurant at 1230pm to share in drinks, snacks and conversation with fellow students and professors.
  • During the opening ceremony, we will introduce all of the professors and staff, go over the safety orientation, and give a brief "Introduction to Brazil" lecture.
  • During the "Introduction to Brazil" session today, we will have a special "First impressions talk"; to help students with a first perspective about the city of Rio and it’s culture. Understanding the city map, public transportation, safety, will be some of the topics discussed!
