Housing

Travel Health Insurance

All participants coming from abroad will be provided with travel medical insurance from FrontierMEDEX.(TravMed Choice, $250,000 medical coverage, including an additional Sports Coverage, but with $250 deductible for students).
Upon arriving in Brazil, students will be given their health insurance cards with full instructions about health and safety procedures.

Resident Staff Support

In Brazil: Local university & Summit staff will be available to address your unique questions and assist you throughout the duration of your program.

Summit Study Abroad recognizes that credit approval is one of the most important steps in your study abroad planning. We give you the tools online to assist in your credit approval process.

Onsite Orientation

We will provide you a comprehensive orientation with useful insider tips and advice to help you adjust to your new environment.
Activities to get to know the other students on your program (we will also try to organize events for you to get to know local students as well!)

Pre-Departure Assistance

Summit Study Abroad is committed to helping both you and your parents feel prepared for your study abroad experience.
Pre-Departure Packet with information on what to pack, climate, culture shock, local customs, safety, travel suggestions, and much more
City-specific handbooks include maps, passport and visa information, and staff contact numbers
Special mailing for parents upon request with specific program and billing information

Budgeting assistance

Help with budgeting for airfare, additional meals and personal expenses

Credit Transfer (Two courses, up to 6 credits)

Depending on which session is selected, students can take up to two three-credit academic courses

Tuition and University Registration

All Summit program prices cover the cost of tuition and basic fees at the host institution. Before your departure, Summit also offers you advice on how to ensure proper transfer of the college credits you will earn abroad. Our Academic Relations Team will work with you and your school regarding credit transfer.

Professional & Cultural visits:

Students that attend the Summit event in Brazil will have many professional visits to Brazilian and International companies, which will provide them with a valuable insight into the economy.

Personalized Advising:

Our goal is to personally get to know each student, and to offer personalized advising: helping students not only select the best program and courses, but also offering advice about daily life abroad.

Airport Reception Option

On the start date of your program, you can request to be greeted at the airport by a friendly Summit representative who will offer you a brief orientation, and help arrange transport you to your accommodations. The cost for this service is $50 and needs to be arranged at least one week prior to your arrival date. If you are arriving on the same flight (time, date), the fee can be shared among students. This fee does not include transportation costs (taxi) to get to the hotel.

Students selecting this option will guarantee a worry-free start to your Summit Study Abroad program, and added convenience and comfort upon your arrival in an otherwise unfamiliar destination.
